Although Our Lady appeared in Fatima during 1917, it was in the late '40's that the message of Our Lady to the children of Fatima was becoming well known and widespread.  That message calling for prayer and the Sacraments, especially Penance and the Holy Eucharist, and the willing acceptance of the sacrifices of daily life, brought us with the three children to the feet of Mary for her instruction.  The most noteworthy element in Our Lady's prayer plan was the Rosary.

The Columbian Squires want their traveling Pilgrim Virgin statue to visit the home of a different family each week.  The Squires want this program to remind everyone to pray constantly for world peace and our spiritual (Holy Father) and worldly (President) leaders.  We hope to begin this program in May 2005 and continue it for a couple of years or longer.  One hundred families can keep the statue traveling for two years.   Will you welcome Mary into your home for a week?  It would take over fifteen years for Our Lady’s statue to visit every family in the parish.

Each family will pick up the statue at church on the weekend and take it to their home for prominent display.  Each family is encouraged to Pray the Rosary daily for World Peace.  The family will then return the statue to the parish church the next weekend so that the next family can pick it up. 

Although a donation is not necessary to participate, the Squires would appreciate a donation of  $10 or more to their Fatima Project.  Donations are appreciated even if you can’t host the statue at this time.  This will help us promote the message of Fatima and to make and send Rosaries to the missions.
