Make a pilgrimage during the Year of the Eucharist.

Come to celebrate the Year of the Eucharist and partake of this great gift by making a Eucharistic Pilgrimage to EWTN and the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

A unique opportunity for spiritual renewal awaits those who make a Eucharistic pilgrimage to the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) and the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. At EWTN, pilgrims can attend a televised Mass, contemplate the Face of Christ in Eucharistic Adoration, receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Confession, hear Catechetical and Spiritual Talks, and enjoy the unique experience of Live Show Participation.

Find a place for prayer and contemplation at the EWTN Chapel and surrounding grounds and within the marvelous sanctuary at the Shrine. With the massive room to roam provided on the grounds of the Shrine, there is ample time to allow the soul to experience the presence of God in this holy place. The Nuns at the Shrine invite those seeking spiritual renewal to come and join them at Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and in prayer.

A Shrine and a Network? What's the Connection?

If you are unfamiliar with the beginnings of the Eternal Word Television Network, you may be wondering how EWTN and the Shrine are related. The answer lies in the founding of both places - or more appropriately, the foundress of both places - Mother Angelica!

This Poor Clare Nun of Perpetual Adoration, through the workings of Divine Providence, on August 15th, 1981, started what would become the world's largest global Catholic media network - EWTN. The prayers of Mother and the nuns have always been key to the success of the Network, so even after Mother and the sisters moved to their new home - Our Lady of the Angels Monastery, located at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, approximately an hour away from EWTN - the mission of the two remain ever intertwined: the Network to feed the mind, and the Shrine to feed the heart and soul.

A unique opportunity for spiritual renewal awaits those who make a Eucharistic pilgrimage to the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) and the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. At EWTN pilgrims can join the audience of an EWTN live show, attend the televised Mass or a spiritual talk. Through adoration, the Shrine leads the soul to contemplate the Face of Christ. The Nuns invite those seeking spiritual renewal to come and join them in prayer.

Why make a Pilgrimage to the Television Network?

The answer is simple: EWTN is not just an ordinary television network. EWTN’s mission of spreading the Gospel to the very ends of the earth brings together the Church’s most outstanding priests, theologians, Scripture scholars, and speakers. Live shows, catechetical talks and inspiring Homilies deliver the Truths of the Catholic Church to the Faithful. EWTN’s Chapel and surrounding grounds provide a place for prayer and contemplation. EWTN provides a spiritual oasis for the faithful - a place of prayer and learning. Come spend time with us and you will discover for yourself why you'll want to make a pilgrimage to a television network!

Special Plenary Indulgence

In a Decree published on January 14, 2005 our Holy Father Pope John Paul II has granted a Plenary Indulgence during the Year of the Eucharist, which began in October, 2004. In it he stated: "A Plenary Indulgence is granted to all faithful and to each individual faithful under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer in keeping with the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff, with the soul completely removed from attachment to any form of sin), each and every time they participate attentively and piously in a sacred function or a devotional exercise undertaken in honor of the Blessed Sacrament, solemnly exposed and conserved in the tabernacle.”
