Hi, I have been looking for a
site like this ever since I got my computer four years ago. I always thought
Wendel was the greatest (Still do!) This is great site. I have seen some
of the pics but many of them are new to me. Once again, this is an awesome
site!
Devin
Great site, nice pictures. Like
your write-ups too. Wish Leafs would bring him back
into action. The team just isn't the same under Sundin's "leadership".
(I'm even being polite).
Mike
Man, you sure know how to pick
em. Wendel Lives!! #17 Forever.
Kathy
Your Wendel Clark site kicks
ass! I'm a huge fan, got a whole spare-bedroom covered wall to wall with
his name, face you name it, 3 signed jerseys, signed rookie cards posters
galore! If I knew how to put up a site like yours I would have done it
already! I'm impressed to say the least!!!! Pound for pound the toughest,
that's all I have to say! Come outta retirement you bulldog.
Leafs got NO Heart (God love em!)
Later, Neil
Hi, i love your site. I love
coming to your site to see the pics. My all time fav, is the cartoon
wendel, that was funny. Please put some pics of Mr. Wendel Clark.
Thanks, Dave ps-We definitely should bring
Wendel out of retirement.
Wendel i miss the way you'd
smoke somebody with one of your well exacuted hits. My son was born in
1988 and he didnt know who you were till about 90-91 but when we watch
you play he loved your style and now he plays hockey and proud to say he
plays with the same heart and intensity as you. He has two mvp metals and
cryed when you retired. His room is Wendel Clark shrine. We miss you,
come back you are the differnce between winning and losing. YOUR BIGGEST FANS THANKS FOR
THE MEMORIES WENDEL.
Grace
Wendel Clark has got to come
out of retirement. He is king. Simple as that. He may not look like he
is that good anymore, but he is. Look what he did for Tampa Bay when he
played there. He was one of the top players in the game, and he even went
to the all-star game. He has still got it. The only reason he didn't seem
to do too much last season was because he played for Chicago. Some players are just meant
to be on one specific team, and Wendel belongs on Toronto. Remember what
he said when he announced his retirement? He said, "no matter where I've
played, this has always felt like home." Toronto is his home, he has done
so much for the organization. It was a shame to see him go, and there was
no reason for Toronto not wanting to re-sign him. The guy was only 34 when
he retired, he has had a year to recover from his back problems, which
means he is now only 35 and should be ready to go. He has atleast another
3 years left in him. Wendel Clark is my idol, my
childhood hero, and there is nothing I would like more in this world than
to see him come back and play for Toronto for 1 more year.
COME BACK WENDEL!! TORONTO
NEEDS YOU!!!
Kevin
I can't believe i'm e-mailing
you, of all people i can't begin to tell you how big of a fan i am. I can
tell you i named my son after you(after all as far as i am concerned you
are the only leaf captain that ever was). I'm not going to boar you with
the details from your career, cause you lived them, but i do find it funny
that cujo is in net for the leafs now(after ripping his mask off with one
of your wrist shots...hehe).
Scott
Hello Wendel, I can't believe
that I am actually writing a letter to you and if I tell you where I am
now at this moment, you will be very surprised. I am writing this to you
on the other side of world, South Korea. I am back in my mother land
for work. I can honestly say that I have been admiring you throughout your
career while I was in Canada. you are the reason why I started to
watch the hockey and you are the reason why I ever visited the MLG couple
of times back in 1992 and you did not disappoint me. That night you
have both scored the goal and you kicked the sxxt out of Jets player. I
can never forget that night. and now I look back my days in Canada I remember
I used to watch the molson hockey night in Canada and watching you play
or listening to the radio commentated by Mr, Joe Bown when I am at work.
I have collected at least 50 trading card of yours and I went out and bought
some of your autographed card as well and those are my personal treasure
which I will cherish for the rest of my life. I was extremely upset when
Cliff Fletcher traded you to the Quebec Nordiques and I was so happy to
see you back when day reacquired you on couple of occasions. As much
as I hated you see you retire, I guess things happen for the reason and
I think you have been sacrificing your body so much for us fans and I would
like to see you enjoy your life while you are still healthy. If you
were to play for one more year, it would've been so much harder for me
to come back here last October knowing the fact that I will be missing
your final year, you just don't understand how much I admired you.
I guess I can say I was more of Wendel Clark fan rather than Maple Leafs
fan. It's so sad that I won't be able to see you play anymore and
I really don't think that there will ever be another player like you Wendel.
I have to thank you for the wonderful and exciting memories!! And
I have to thank Mark for this wonderful website as well I still can't believe
that you will be reading this letter not too long later, I am at
work now and it's April 1st Sunday afternoon. I was little bored
and I was checking the nhl.com to see how the Leafs are doing and I just
typed your name.com for the hell of it to see if there is such site exists
and it worked!! god bless you Mark!! Well done. Well, I gotta go Wendel,
I now feel so much better since I wrote this to let you know how much I
appreciated your play and knowing the fact that you now know that one of
your biggest fan lives in Korea. I wish you only the best because
you deserve only the best!! Take care always and thank you once again for
making my stay in Canada much more memorable and you certainly did make
the Molson Canadian beer taste so much better!! haha.
God bless you and your family, Simon Your biggest fan from the
other side of the globe.
Hi Wendel I am sending this
Email to say a quick hello. My name is Debbie, my husband and I both have
followed the Leafs for years. But I am the bigger Wendel fan. This is just
a quick statement that I think that your # 17 should be RETIRED. I hope you and your family are
enjoying your retirement and hopefully we see you sometime soon on the
television.
Debbie
In our hearts Wendel was, is,
and always will be the geatest player to ever step on the ice. Wendel you
are the best. You've been my favorite player since i was a little kid,
I'v collected over 140 of your hockey cards, I remember having tears in
my eyes and being shocked beyond belief when you came home to Toronto both
times. Us Leaf fans should consider ourselves the luckiest sports fans
ever, we had the privilage to see you play. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES WENDEL,
WE LOVE YOU!!
Aaron
Mr.Clark I have been one of
your biggest fans since you came into the league. I was raised watching
the Maple Leafs. Kinda rough when you live in Detroit. I followed
your entire career right up to the end. I didn't get to see your
press conference when you retired, but I saw excerpts from it. I
taped the first game this year when you got the standing ovation for a
long time. Back in 1994, my dad, my grandpa and I went to Toronto
to see the Leafs and Hawks play. We met Doug Gilmour at his old bar
across the street, Nikolai Borshevsky, Bob Rouse and Felix Potvin.
You scored the game winning goal in a 2-1 win. I have a plaque that
depicts your reaction to the goal. The closest I ever came to meeting
you was in Detroit at Joe Louis that same year. I took a picture
of the back of you through the glass. I wish I could've had the guts
to holler to you from over the glass, but I couldn't. I lost an age
old bet with my cousin, who happens to be a Wings fan, I told him "The
only way anyone will ever see me in a Wings jersey is if Wendel comes to
Detroit." Guess what? It's still hanging in my closet!
Chris
Job well done. It's nice to
see that there is still some leafs fans out there that still remember and
appreciate the good old leafs. keep up the good work.
Brian
TO: Wendle Clark Hey Wendel it is Adam from Almonte,
Ontario you are my favourite player in the world hope you were still playing
with the Leafs! Well see ya later Wendel, you're
a beauty!
Adam Liddle
Dear Wendel, My name is Crystal and
my brother-in-law has your number, and the maple leaf symbol tattooed on
his bi-cep. He knows all your stats and got his tattoo because of you.
Crystal
I just wanted to say that this
web site rules. And so please make sure whom ever you sell it to loves
Wendel as much as we do. So that the site doesn't diapear. Number one web site. Wendel
Clark is GOD.
Michael
Wendel you are one of
best you could do it all . I thank you for all the great games and fights
to.
DOUG
I have just been checking out
this website for the past hour or so and I LOVE IT!!! Should they
bring back Wendel-hell yeah!! I think that Wendel always has been the heart
of the Leafs team, when they traded him the heart went with him.
I watched his games on both of his returns and the fans never forgot him
everyone always loved him. During his first game on his first trip back
I was almost in tears when I saw the response of the fans when he hit the
ice, it was awesome. The only thing better would have been being there
to see it. I just knew he would score the first goal that night and
chills went up my back when he did it. I wear my Wendel jersey with pride
and it is one of my most cherished possessions and being female I guess
that says a lot. The only regret that I have is that I have been trying
for years to get Leafs tickets and I finally managed it, after Wendel
was gone. I will be going to my first game in Feb. and am very excited
because I was raised as a die hard Leafs fan. It would have just been awesome
to see him play live and have a chance to get a photo of him. WE LOVE YOU WENDEL, YOU'RE THE
BEST!!!!
Chris
Hey boyz and ladiez, Dont any
of you come to this site and for one second say anything about Wendel,
that man is the best damn hockey player ever, he will never be frogotten,
and I have no idea why the hell the leaugue didn't put him in the hall
of fame, he is the best player ever, or even retire his number. Clark has
been in the most fights, well ok maybe not the most, but I definily think
he has won the most and showed a lot of courage fighting for hs team ,
when they are dwon by three and he is fighting a man five feet bigger then
him, hes the best darn player, not one time will you ever see him do anything
wrong to the game, he will always live in my heart, and he will never go
away. He has scored so many beutiful goals, with that wrist shot, and the
hardest slap shot, brett hull my but, CLARKS THE MAN, hat trick after hat
trick, or like that one time, in 1989 , man comes around the net, Clark
is hiding in the bushes, and he crushes him, a beauitful hit I will always
remember. I recall him giving the man a concussion and he was taken straight
to the hospital. I play hockey for Clark, every single year I have been
number 17 in hockey, EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!! This year the numbers only went
up to 16, so i got 7, I was pissed, so me and my dad went to the cresters
and we crested a 1 on the jersey, i was number 17 again. Man come back
im starting to lose faith, I love you and I honestly mean that.
Mike
Am i the only one that feels
that the "Great One" Wendel Clark will return to the ice and take over
as teh captain of the leafs. Cuz wendel is awesome and is way better then
Wayne or Mario.
Dave, ps-this site is awesome
TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO STILL
TALK ABOUT (YOU RULE) WENDEL. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE GOD AND REMAIN THE BEST
PLAYER TO EVER PUT ON A UNIFORM. GO WENDEL GO. WE ALL WILL LOVE YOU FOR
EVERYTHING YOU DID FOR US THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER. WENDEL CLARK THE BEST
OF THE BEST. WE MISS YOU. FROM ALL YOUR FANS
Mike
I was always the first person
to shoot my mouth of about Wendel Clark. If he scored a hat trick or knocked
the head off of Probert, everyone around me knew about it. Then, people
would ask me "why the hell do you like Wendel Clark so much?" This is what
I have to say to that: Sure Gretzky scores lots of
goal and Lemeiux can to but do they check, score goals, enforce and play
with a determination that can only be matched with a pit bull chasing a
meat wagon? NO. The Leafs could be down 5-0 with four minutes left in the
third period and Wendel would step on to the ice and play as if he neede
to score one goal for the cup!! Wendel has a wrist shot that would rip
the head off of a brass monkey, he was not scared to hammer some poor bugger
into the boards, nor was he afraid to drop the gloves with the best of
them. That is why I loved Wendel Clark so much. He just never gave up,
he had a leadership that made the whole team feel like a "team". Wendel, I love you, to me you
were the greatest hockey player in the world!!!!! Thanks for the memories!!!
Wilson
I think that the Leafs are an
excellent team this year and I am very happy with the additions that they
have made. However, I think that they are missing that one sparkplug player
that lights-up the ice and the crowd. I believe that this is what this
team desperately needs. Do I think that there will ever
be another Wendel? Probably not, but I don't think I am ever going to see
Mats rip a wicked wrist-shot one minute and then be in a scrap the next.
Devo
Happy birthday Wendel you will
always be my favorite.
Darin
Hockey Coach - What a dream
come true that would be(next to wendel returning to play) just think of
it, i mean as if your not going to want to play your guts out for wendel!
