FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Pianist Tim Lyddon To Perform at Bible baptist church in Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix, Arizona: Formerly New York based pianist Tim Lyddon will perform a solo piano jazz concert at bible baptist church on Thursday , june 12, 2008. 12 noon to 1pm to support Mr. Lyddon’s latest release on his EssenceJazz label, Shades Of People. The pianist has just relocated to Phoenix, Arizona from New York City. He will spend his time here performing and preparing for his next recording which will feature a larger group.
His compelling and distinctive style engages a sensibility of enormous breadth, encompassing the classic American song form, and the harmonic innovations of the post-bop era, offering “..a light touch that allows for a certain resonance, meaning that his lines - often little snippets of pure melody - are flecked with intrigue.” (Macnie) Village Voice. Mr. Lyddon has performed and toured with jazz artists such as flutist Sam Most, the Dick Berk Quartet, Chuck Flores Quintet, bassist Jeff Berlin, vocalist Herb Jeffries and drummers Tony Moreno and Bill Goodwin and Eliot Zigmund. He has led his trio at some of New York citys finest jazz rooms including Birdland and Sweet Rhythm. During his stay in New york city, the pianist recorded 2 Cd’s which received much critical acclaim and airplay.

“…the trio has come together as one entity which reveals how dynamic an entity can be.” Dan Karcher, WBGO-FM (Jazz 88)
“With an engaging light as a feather, block-chord touch, pianist Tim Lyddon spins out original and standard compositions in the piano trio format. Even in a congested market, Lyddon makes a strong case for his rendering of the piano trio.” – Michael Bailey (All About Jazz).
“ He’s armed with a slightly irreverent sense of humor that is sprinkled throughout Shades of People. It’s safe to say Lyddon never met a motif he could’nt weave into the fabric of an intro. He does it on all six standards and each is a delight.
JAZZ TIMES May 2004
The concert performance will feature new arrangements of standard tunes and a few selections from his Cds. There is $5 cover charge. Both CD releases are available for purchase on the Web at towerrecords.com, Cd Baby, amazon.com, ejazzlines.com, and on Mr. Lyddon’s website, www.pianojazz.net.
